Instant Indexing

Submit URL updates through IndexNow, manage your key, and monitor recent submission records from one screen.

Overview

Instant Indexing lets you submit URLs to supported search engines through IndexNow. It is useful when you want updated, new, or removed content to be reported faster than waiting for normal discovery.

Admin path: Airygen SEO -> Settings -> Instant Indexing

The module gives you a place to manage your key, choose search engines, queue older content, submit URLs manually, and review recent delivery records.

Settings

The page is divided into Settings and Records.

Settings tab

Main settings

  • Enable Instant Indexing turns the module on or off.
  • API key stores the IndexNow key used for submissions.
  • Copy key copies the current key for reuse elsewhere.
  • Rotate key generates a fresh key when you want to replace the current one.
  • Key location URL sets the public URL of the key file and can be left blank to use the default location.
  • Retry cooldown (days) controls how long failed submissions wait before retrying.
  • Daily event quota limits how many submission events can be sent per day, and 0 removes the limit.
  • Auto-submit new/updated posts queues URLs automatically when content is created or updated.

Engines

  • Bing is shown first and can be enabled or disabled from its card.
  • Other supported engines appear in the same section with their current submission endpoint.
  • Each engine card includes a toggle so you can decide which services receive notifications.

Backfill

  • Included post types lets you choose which post types should be queued for older content submission.
  • Queue backfill starts a background job to send existing URLs after you enable the module or add a new engine.

Manual submit

  • URLs accepts one URL per line.
  • Action supports Add, Update, and Delete.
  • Submit URLs queues those URLs immediately for manual submission.

Records tab

  • Status cards show Pending, Processing, Failed, and Completed submission counts.
  • The key health card shows whether the key is detected, reachable, and where it is located.
  • Submission logs lists Engine, Status, Message, and Time for recent delivery attempts.
  • Recent URLs shows recently queued URLs, their current state, and the last error when one exists.
  • Refresh status reloads the current queue and delivery information.

How to Use

  1. Open Airygen SEO -> Settings -> Instant Indexing.
  2. Turn on Enable Instant Indexing.
  3. Add your API key, or use Rotate key if you want to create a fresh one.
  4. Set Key location URL, Retry cooldown (days), Daily event quota, and Auto-submit new/updated posts according to your workflow.
  5. In Engines, turn on the search engines that should receive submissions.
  6. In Backfill, choose the post types you want included and click Queue backfill if you need older content submitted.
  7. In Manual submit, paste one URL per line, choose an Action, and click Submit URLs when you need to send a specific batch.
  8. Open the Records tab and review the status cards, key health, logs, and recent URLs to confirm that submissions are working.

Check these items after saving:

  • The key is detected and marked reachable in the records area.
  • The correct engines are enabled for submission.
  • Backfill includes only the post types you actually want to submit.
  • Recent logs show successful delivery instead of repeated errors.

SEO Benefits

Instant indexing helps search engines learn about important URL changes faster. That is especially useful for fresh content, updated pages, and removed URLs that should not wait for slower discovery cycles.

User Cases

News or fast-moving publishing sites

Before: New articles and major updates depend only on normal crawling speed, which can delay discovery.

After: Instant Indexing can queue new and updated URLs automatically, so the site has a faster way to report important changes.

Sites cleaning up or replacing content

Before: Old URLs are removed or replaced, but search engines do not learn about the change quickly enough.

After: The team can use Manual submit with Delete or Update actions and queue a Backfill to report those changes more directly.

FAQ

Do I need an IndexNow key before this module can work?

Yes. The module uses the API key and its public file location to validate submissions.

When should I use Queue backfill?

Use it after enabling Instant Indexing for the first time, after adding a new engine, or when you want older content queued again.

Can I submit delete events as well as new URLs?

Yes. The Manual submit section supports Add, Update, and Delete.
